ChineseBuddy
Mandarin Chinese dialogues and vocabulary with native-speaker MP3 audio, pinyin guides and speaker labels.
Hamm Software makes small, focused Windows apps that play real dialogues and vocabulary read by native speakers, in a small window that never blocks your work interface. It makes full use of your spare moments, so you can learn while working on other things on your computer and every second of your time counts - six languages, Dialogs and Vocabulary editions, a 7-day free trial and a one-time purchase.
Every Hamm Software product is built around one idea: the minutes you already have are enough to learn a language, as long as the software never gets in the way of your work.
Learning happens while you get on with your work. The app plays one line at a time on a timer you set, so five spare minutes still move you forward.
It sits in a corner of the screen, or docks to the top edge as a slim bar. Your document, spreadsheet or browser stays fully usable - no full-screen lesson, no switching applications.
Each language ships with 45 everyday situations, about 500 lines of dialogue and about 2,000 words - every one recorded by a native speaker and available offline.
Every product ships as two companion apps: Dialogs for real-life conversations and Vocabulary for word cards. One licence key covers both editions of a language, and every one of them works the same way - in your spare moments, without getting in the way of your work.

It makes full use of your spare moments and it never blocks your work interface — so every second of your time counts. No lessons to schedule and no streaks to keep, just sound that plays while you do something else.
The window sits in a corner or docks to the top edge as a slim bar, so your spreadsheet, document or browser stays fully usable while a new line appears every few seconds.
Real human recordings (MP3) made by native speakers, so you hear the rhythm and tone of the language. Nothing is generated while you use the app: the audio was recorded before release and ships with it.
A slim floating window that stays visible over your work, dockable to the top of the screen as a single line.
Set the switch interval, how many times each line repeats and the volume, then let it run in the background.
Global hotkeys, a system-tray menu and full auto-play control, usable without touching the mouse.
Each product includes both editions (Dialogs and Vocabulary) and works offline. A 7-day free trial starts on the first launch.
That is exactly what it is designed for. The window is small, can be docked to the top edge of the screen as a slim bar, and never takes focus away from the program you are using. Ctrl+Alt+W hides or shows it instantly, and each language includes 45 everyday situations, about 500 lines of dialogue and about 2,000 words to play in the background.
The trial lasts 7 days from the first time you launch the app. All features are available. When it ends the app asks for a licence key and exits if you would rather not buy.
Open either edition (Dialogs or Vocabulary), choose the right-click or tray menu item Enter License Key…, paste the key you received and click Activate. One key covers both editions of the same language.
No. After installation they work fully offline; the licence key is verified on your PC.
Not today. Hamm Software products are Windows desktop apps (64-bit).
