About Hamm Software
Hamm Software makes small, focused Windows apps for learning a language by listening: real conversations and word lists read by native speakers, in a window that sits quietly on top of whatever else you are doing.
Why we build these
Most language software asks for an hour of your day. Our experience is that twenty minutes of listening spread across a working day sticks better than one long session - so the apps are built around a window you can leave open.
Instead of gamified levels we kept the honest things: a sentence, its meaning, who is speaking, and a recording of a native speaker. Then we added the controls that make it usable at work - always on top, a timer, keyboard shortcuts, a tray menu and a size that fits in the corner of the screen.
How the audio is made
Every line in the dialogue and vocabulary libraries is recorded by a native speaker, edited into individual MP3 files and shipped inside the product. The apps contain no AI, speech or language model, they generate no voice at all, and nothing is streamed.

- The audio travels with the app, so it works with no internet
- No cloud service that can change, break or start charging
- The same recordings on every PC, so a lesson sounds the same at home and at work
What we deliberately do not do
No subscription
One payment per language, and the licence does not expire. We would rather sell you a product once than rent it to you forever.
No account, no tracking
There is nothing to sign up for, no analytics inside the apps and no data sent back to us. See the privacy policy.
No ads and no nagging
The trial is honest about its seven days, and the paid app does not interrupt you with upgrade prompts or special offers.

Five of them (Chinese, French, Spanish, Italian and German) are packaged for direct download here; CantoBuddy is being prepared for release and its word list is already browsable online.
